9.4 Commands for AM Configuration

9.4.1 am enable

Command: am enable
no am enable
Function: Globally enable/disable the AM function.
Parameters: None.
Command mode: Global Mode
Default: Disabled.
Usage guide: Globally enable/disable the AM function.
Example: Enable the AM function on the switch.

active500EM(config)#am enable

Disable the AM function on the switch.

active500EM(config)#no am enable

 

9.4.2 am port

Command: am port
no am port
Function: Enable/disable the AM function on port.
Parameters: None.
Command mode: Port Mode
Default: Disabled.
Usage guide: Enable/disable the AM function on port.
Example: Enable the AM function on interface 1/0/3 of the switch.

active500EM(config-if-ethernet1/0/3)#am port

Disable the AM function on interface 1/0/3 of the switch.

active500EM(config-if-ethernet1/0/3)#no am port

 

9.4.3 am ip-pool

Command: am ip-pool <ip-address> <num>
no am ip-pool <ip-address> <num>
Function: Set the AM IP segment of the interface. Allow/deny the IP messages or APR messages from a source IP within that segment to be forwarded via the interface.
Parameters:

  • <ip-address>: starting address of an address segment in the IP address pool.
  • <num>: number of consecutive addresses following the ip-address; less than or equal with 32.

Command mode: Port Mode
Default: The IP address pool is empty.
Usage guide: Set the AM IP segment of the interface. Allow/deny the IP messages or APR messages from a source IP within that segment to be forwarded via the interface.
Example: Configure the interface 1/0/3 of the switch to forward data packets from an IP address which is one of 10 consecutive IP addresses starting from 10.10.10.1.

9.4.4 am mac-ip-pool

Command: am mac-ip-pool <mac-address> <ip-address>
no am mac-ip-pool <mac-address> <ip-address>
Function: Set the AM MAC-IP address of the interface. Allow/deny the IP messages or APR messages from a source IP within that segment to be forwarded via the interface.
Parameter:

  • <mac-address>: source MAC address.
  • <ip-address>: source IP address of the packets. The valid value is a 32 bit binary number represented in four decimal numbers.

Command mode: Port Mode
Default: MAC-IP address pool is empty.
Usage guide: Set the AM MAC-IP address of the interface. Allow/deny the IP messages or APR messages from a source IP within that segment to be forwarded via the interface.
Example: Configure the interface 1/0/3 of the switch to allow data packets with a source MAC address of 11-22-22-11-11-11 and a source IP address of 10.10.10.1 to be forwarded.

9.4.5 no am all

Command: no am all [ip-pool | mac-ip-pool] Function: Delete the MAC-IP address pool, IP address pool, or both pools configured by all users.
Parameters:

  • ip-pool: IP address pool.
  • mac-ip-pool: MAC-IP address pool.
  • no parameter: both address pools.

Command mode: Global Mode
Default: Both address pools are empty.
Usage guide: Delete the MAC-IP address pool, IP address pool, or both pools configured by all users.
Example: Delete all configured IP address pools.

active500EM(config)#no am all ip-pool

 

9.4.6 show am

Command: show am [interface [ethernet] <interface-name>] Function: Display the configured AM entries.
Parameters:

  • <interface-name>: name of the interface of the configured information to be displayed.
  • no parameter: display the AM configuration information of all interfaces.

Command mode: Admin and Configuration Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: Displays the configured AM entries.
Example: Display all configured AM entries.
