6.8 Commands for Keepalive Gateway

6.8.1 keepalive gateway

Command: keepalive gateway <ip-address> [{<interval-seconds> | msec <interval-
millisecond>} [<retry-count>]] no keepalive gateway
Function: Enable the keepalive gateway. Configure the ARP request packet interval that is sent and retry-count after detection fails. The no command disables the function.
Parameters:

  • <ip-address>: IP address of the gateway.
  • <interval-seconds>: the ARP request packet interval (unit is seconds) for sending. The valid range is between 1 and 32767. If there is no configuration, the default is 10 seconds.
  • <interval-millisecond>: ARP request packet interval (unit is millisecond) for sending. The valid range is between 160 and 999.
  • <retry-count>: determine the retry-count after detection has failed. If retry-count is not configured, the default is 5 times.

Command mode: Interface Mode
Default: Disabled.
Usage guide: The detection method is used in point-to-point topology mode only.
Example: Enable the keepalive gateway. Configure the ARP request packet interval for sending and the retry-count after detection fails.

6.8.2 show ip interface

Command: show ip interface [<interface-name>] Function: Show the IPv4 run status of the specified interface.
Parameters:

  • <interface-name>: specified interface name. If no parameter is set, all IPv4 run statuses for all interfaces is displayed.

Command mode: Admin and Configuration mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: Shows the IPv4 run status of the specified interface.
Example: Show the IPv4 run status of the specified interface.

6.8.3 show keepalive gateway

Command: show keepalive gateway [<interface-name>] Function: Show keepalive run status of the specified interface.
Parameters:

  • <interface-name>: the specified interface name. If no parameter is used, the keepalive run status of all interfaces is shown.

Command mode: Admin and Configuration mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: Shows keepalive run status of the specified interface.
Example: Show keepalive run status of the specified interface.

active500EM(config)#show keepalive gateway
interface Vlan1 gateway 1.1.1.1 time 10s retry 1 remain 4 now UP
