18.1 device-location rf-scan

Command: device-location rf-scan
no device-location rf-scan
Function: Enable the wireless rf-scan location function. The no command disables this function.
Parameters: None.
Command mode: Wireless Global Mode
Default: Enabled.
Usage guide: This command is used to enable the wireless rf-scan location function. After enabling, the wireless AC will determine the device location according to the RF-data from the APs.
Example: Enable the wireless rf-scan location function.

18.2 device-location rf-scan-interval

Command: device-location rf-scan-interval <30-3600>
no device-location rf-scan-interval
Function: Configure the interval of the rf-scan location. The no command resets to default.
Parameters:

  • <30-3600>: the interval of the scan.

Command mode: Wireless Global Mode
Default: 60s.
Usage guide: This command is used to configure the scan interval of the RF-location algorithm. Configure the RFscan time to be less than the best location interval. This will ensure the data used in each calculation is the most recent.
Example: Configure the location scan interval as 120s.

18.3 device-location building

Command: device-location building <1-8>
no device-location building <1-8>
Function: Enter the building location of the AP via the configuration mode. The no command deletes the appointed building location.
Parameters:

  • <1-8>: building ID.

Command mode: Wireless Global Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: This command is used to enter the building location of the AP. The building floor information should also be included. The no command deletes the appointed building location.
Example: Create building 3 and enter the building configuration mode.

18.4 description

Command: description WORD
no description
Function: Configure the descriptive name of the building. The no command resets to default.
Parameters:

  • WORD: the descriptive name of the building. It is made up of characters from 1 to 64.

Command mode: Building Configuration Mode
Default: The description name is building-n as default; n is the ID of the building.
Usage guide: This command is used to configure the descriptive name of the building.
Example: Configure the description name of the building as work-1.

18.5 floor

Command: floor <1-20>
no floor <1-20>
Function: Enter the floor information to the AP by entering the floor configuration mode. The no command deletes the identified floor.
Parameters:

  • <1-20>: the floor ID.

Command mode: Building Configuration Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: This command is used to enter the floor information corresponding to the location of the AP. The no command deletes the appointed floor.
Example: Enter the floor location of the AP.

18.6 ap xy-coordinate

Command: ap <macaddr> xy-coordinate meters <x-coordinate> <y-coordinate>
no ap <macaddr>
Function: Configure the coordinate information of the appointed AP. The no command deletes the coordinate information.
Parameters:

  • <macaddr>: MAC address of the AP.
  • <x-coordinate>: x-axis coordinate.
  • <y-coordinate>: y-axis coordinate.

Command mode: Floor Configuration Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: This command is used to configure the x and y axis coordinates information of the identified AP. The valid metric is feet or meters.
Example: Configure the coordinates of the appointed AP as (10, 100).

18.7 description

Command: description WORD
no description
Function: Configure the descriptive name of the floor. The no command resets to default.
Parameters:

  • WORD: the descriptive name of the floor. It is made up of characters from 1 to 64.

Command mode: Floor Configuration Mode
Default: The description name is none as default.
Usage guide: This command is used to configure the descriptive name of the floor.
Example: Configure the descriptive name of floor as test.

18.8 show wireless device-location

Command: show wireless device-location
Function: Show global location function status.
Parameters: None.
Command mode: Admin Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: This command is used to examine the global status information of the RF-scan location function, the RF-scan report status, and the RF-scan report interval configured.
Example: Show global location function status.

Command: show wireless device-location building [<1-8>] Function: Show global location building configuration.

Usage guide: This command is used to show the configuration global location buildings or appointed buildings.
Example: Show global location building configuration.

Usage guide: This command is used to examine the location configuration status: the global floor or the appointed floor.

Usage guide: This command is used to show global AP configuration status or the floor of the appointed building location information.
Example: Show global AP configuration status of location function.

18.12 show wireless device-location {ap | client} triangulation

Command: show wireless device-location {ap | client | building | floor-status | global-status} triangulation {status-all | status-located}
Function: Show global location information.
Parameters:

  • ap: ap location.
  • client: client location.
  • status-all: all location information.
  • status-located: the status of successful location.

Command mode: Admin Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: The command is used to examine the location information of all APs or clients; it is also used to?examine the information of the successful location.
Example: Show the location information of all APs.

Command: show wireless device-location {ap|client} <mac> triangulation status
Function: Shows the detailed location information of the appointed AP or client.
Parameters:

  • ap: ap location.
  • client: client location.
  • <mac>: MAC address of the appointed AP or client.

Command mode: Admin Mode
Default: None.
Usage guide: This command is used to identify the location information of the appointed AP or client.
Example: Show the detailed location information of the appointed AP.

Command: wireless device-location start-search {ap|client} <mac> [building <1-8>] [floor <1-20>] [useoperational-mode-radios] Function: Manually trigger location function; locate the AP or the client.
Parameters:

  • <mac>: MAC address of the located ap or client.
  • <1-8>: ID of the appointed building.
  • <1-20>: ID of the appointed floor.
  • [use-operational-mode-radios]: the active radio mode of the location.

Command mode: Admin Mode
Default: Trigger location is manual as default. APs with the sentry radio mode of all buildings and floors will participate in this function.
Usage guide: This command is used to manually locate the AP or the client.
Example Manually locate the AP in all buildings and floors. The active radio mode is not used.

Usage guide: This command is used to enable detailed debug and error information of the device-location function. It?s also used to identify detailed debugging information during the location process, and the associated error information when an error occurs.
Example: Enable detailed debug information of the device-location function.
